Officers with the Brush Police Department and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office contacted a vehicle driven by Steven Hodge on Jan. 30, 2026, for traffic violations in the Brush area, police said.

During the stop, a K-9 unit from the Fort Morgan Police Department alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. Officers located narcotics in the vehicle and Hodge was placed under arrest.

Authorities said the search resulted in the seizure of several illicit firearms and a large quantity of narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl pills.
