Marilyn Opal Morgan, 71, of Chappell, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on January 2nd, 2026. Born on June 1st, 1954, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she lived her life with kindness, love, laughter, and enjoyed quite a few adventures.


She was a devoted wife to Barry for 28 years and was a loving mother to Kimberley and Jeremiah. Marilyn loved spending time with her family, enjoyed music and art, and was talented in both. Her smile and kindness were widely known among her friends, family, and to all who were fortunate to have genuinely shared in her life. She will be deeply missed.


In her professional career, the majority of her work and passion was in acting as a legal assistant for close to 20 years for both Deuel and Cheyenne County attorneys offices. She finished her career as a notary in the Deuel County Clerk's office before retiring in 2019.


Marilyn is survived by her children, Jeremiah Morgan and Kimberley Wright (Trevor); her grandchildren, Jacksen Kleist (Kaylee), Makayla Kleist, Bradley Wright (Kayla), Triston Wright (Sadie); and great-grandchildren, Adelaide Kleist, Lilah Wright, and Kaysn Sanders. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barry Morgan; parents, Carl and Alice Rotz; sisters, Joanne Zolock and Carol Evanich; brother-in-law, Gerald Evanich.


A celebration of life will be held Friday, February 13th, 2026 at 11:00 am. at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Chappell, Ne.
