Rick was born on October 14, 1947, in Lancaster, Wisconsin. After graduating high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a service he carried with great pride throughout his life. After returning home, Rick worked at Leprino Foods in Chappell, then as the Bulk Fuel Manager at FEC, where he built lasting friendships and was known for his strong work ethic. Even after retirement, Rick stayed active, working part-time at the Chappell city offices and continuing to serve his community in many ways. There were also several evenings working at Pump and Pantry making numerous friends.

Rick’s life was filled with simple joys — he loved golfing, playing cribbage, working crossword puzzles, mowing lawns, recycling, and taking the occasional trip to the casino when the opportunity arose. He was deeply involved in his hometown, serving on the Volunteer Fire Department, the school board, and the city council.

Rick will be remembered for his humor, his hard work, his giving nature, and his deep love for family and friends. He had a way of making people feel welcome, sharing a laugh, and lending a hand whenever needed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Vogt; sisters Twila Gaylord, Kim Collins, and Dawn (Don) Armstrong; and daughters Nicole (Ben) Hegel, Meradith (Justin) Langley, Desteny (Jerad) Misegadis, and Cortney (Justin) Misegadis. Rick’s legacy lives on through his grandchildren; Jourdan (Sam) Schumacher, Trinity (Tucker) Baker, Payje Misegadis, Kyler (special friend Sera) Hegel, Jersie Misegadis, Marcus (Leah) Hegel, Rylan Misegadis, Laramey Misegadis, and Harper Misegadis. And his three great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.

Preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Delores Vogt; his father-and mother-in-law, Robert and Cecelia Michelman; and his brother-in-law, Ronald Michelman. Rick’s family takes comfort in knowing that his life was full, his love was strong, and his laughter will echo in their hearts forever.
