Michell L. “Mickie” Hartzler, age 63, of Sidney, NE, was called home on December 26, 2025.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney, NE with Brenda Pfeifly officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to the Alan Hartzler Community Fund.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Mickie’s care and funeral arrangements.

Mickie was born May 1, 1962 in North Platte, NE. She graduated from North Platte High School in 1980. Mickie was very active in 4-H and high school rodeo. She attended WNCC completing her certificate in cosmetology. Mickie worked 20+ years at Cabela’s where she gained many lifelong friends.

Mickie married Alan Hartzler on August 27, 1983. They then had two beautiful children Magen and Marcus. She loved spending time with family and friends, traveling for her children's sporting events over the years, camping, crafting, and spending time with her dog Albert.  Mickie’s passion for giving ran deep. Over the past 5 years Mickie has dedicated her time to the Alan Hartzler Community Fund. Where she has helped grow Sidney’s public park by raising funds for a new basketball court in memory of her late husband and son. She was always willing to help, always willing to listen, and always showed up. Mickie’s love and kindness will live on in all who knew her.

 Survivors include daughter Magen husband Uriah Bankes; grandson Kaiden Shatto; granddaughter Millie Hartzler; mother, Marolyn Hoban; sister Amber Hoban; brother, Andy wife Elery Hoban; brother in-law Brad Hartzler; sister in-law Traci husband Larry Brachtenbach, sister in-law Lori Hartzler, brother-in-law Steve wife Angela Hartzler, brother-in-law Tony Schultz, and many nieces and nephews; 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Hartzler, son, Marcus Hartzler, father, Moe Hoban, twin sister Marcie Schultz. father in-law and mother in-law, Mike and Glady Hartzler, Brother in-law Mike Hartzler, grandparents, William and Bertha Stone, cousin Troy Bayne and other aunts and uncles.
